COVID-19 update: Province reports 452 new cases

EDMONTON, AB- Alberta Health has reported 452 new cases of COVID-19 across the province today. A total of 5,085 tests were completed over a 24 hour period bringing the positivity rate to 8.8 per cent. Of the newly confirmed cases, Alberta Health says they have also identified 237 variants of concern.

In total, there are 13,608 active cases province-wide. Hospitalizations are at 569 people including 161 in ICU. Seven deaths have also been reported over the past 24 hours.

In Medicine Hat, there are 131 active cases, 1047 recoveries and 20 reported deaths.

Cypress County has 36 active cases, and 245 recoveries.

The County of Newell has 29 active cases, 192 recoveries and two recorded deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has 25 active cases, 536 recoveries, and six recorded deaths.

Lethbridge County, has 92 active cases, 1,117 recoveries, and 12 recorded deaths.

The city of Lethbridge has 201 active cases , 4,520 recoveries and 37 deaths.
