COVID-19 update: Province confirms 1,195 new cases

EDMONTON, AB- There are 1,195 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province Saturday. Of the newly confirmed cases, 386 were identified as variants of concern, according to Alberta Health.

Approximately 13,000 tests were completed over a 24 hour period. The provincial positivity rate is 9.6 per cent.

There are 686 people in hospital, province-wide including 178 in ICU.

The province also confirmed three additional deaths.

In Medicine Hat, there are 203 active cases of COVID-19, 907 recoveries and 18 recorded deaths.

Cypress County has 31 active cases, and 231 recoveries.

The County of Newell has 23 active cases, 178 recoveries and two deaths.

The city of Brooks has 41 active cases, 1396 recoveries, and 15 recorded deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has 50 active cases, 495 recoveries, and six recorded deaths.

Lethbridge County has 175 active cases, 1001 recoveries, and 11 recorded deaths.

The city of Lethbridge has 377 active cases, 4231 recoveries and 37 deaths
