Update: Police perform high-risk stop near Medicine Hat College

UPDATE: The Medicine Hat Police Service said no charges were laid following a high-risk stop along College Ave Saturday evening.

Speaking to CHAT News, Acting Staff Sgt. Ernie Fischhofer said three male youths have been turned over to their parents, after officers located a pellet gun inside their vehicle.

Staff Sgt. Fischhofer said just before 6 p.m. police received a report of a vehicle in the 500 block of 5 Ave SW. The report indicated three men and what appeared to be a long gun.

Police observed the vehicle coming out of Kin Coulee Park. That’s when officers conducted a high-risk stop near the college.

The three men were removed one at a time from the vehicle, and Sgt. Fischhofer said they were cooperative in telling police the location of the pellet gun.

None of the three males were known to police.

MEDICINE HAT,AB- Multiple police vehicles could be seen with their lights flashing near the entrance of Medicine Hat College Saturday evening.

Officers appeared to be focused on a red Nissan sedan that was parked along the roadway towards the college entrance.

Acting Staff Sgt. Ernie Fischhofer told CHAT News, police received a report of a vehicle driving through a residential area with someone that appeared to be pointing a weapon.

Staff Sgt. Fischhofer said officers conducted a high-risk stop.

Police could be seen leaving the area at around 6:45p.m.

More information on possible charges is expected to be released soon.
