COVID-19 update: Province confirms 1,516 new cases including three new active cases in Medicine Hat

EDMONTON,AB – Alberta Health has confirmed 1,516 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, including 800 new variants of concern.

A total of 15,343 tests have been completed. The provincial positivity rate is 9.8 per cent.

There are 451 people in the hospital, including 103 in ICU.

The province also confirmed three new deaths.

In Medicine Hat, there are nine new cases confirmed over 24 hours. The city has 106 active cases, 595 recoveries, and 17 deaths.

Cypress County has 28 active cases and 160 recoveries.

The County of Newell has 11 active cases, 161 recoveries, and two recorded deaths.

The city of Brooks has nine active cases 1,353 recoveries and 14 recorded deaths.

The MD of Taber has 35 active cases, 413 recoveries, and six recorded deaths.

Lethbridge County 112 cases, 725 recoveries, and nine recorded deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 462 active cases, 3327 recoveries, and 34 recorded deaths.

Taking to Social Media, Dr. Hinshaw urged all eligible Albertans to get their vaccines. A total of 1,147,048 does have been administered so far.
