Passenger refunds
Feds reach deal with Air Canada for financial relief

The federal government has reached an agreement with Air Canada to provide the pandemic-battered airline with financial support.
In exchange, the airline will give refunds for customers who had their flights cancelled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For months the federal government has said any support specifically for the airline industry would require airlines giving refunds to passengers.
Support for the country’s largest airline will come in the form of a loan, not a direct financial bailout.
