Hat Grannies promoting online concert to support African grandmothers

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Hat Grannies group is spreading the word about a virtual concert that will benefit to Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Together in Concert: In Solidarity with African Grandmothers is being hosted by 160 grandmother groups across Canada, including the Hat Grannies. The concert is free but donations are appreciated.

The concert is on April 15 at 5:30 MT.

The concert will feature performances by Jackie Richardson, Steven Page, National Ballet of Canada, David Myles, Stratford Festival, Sheree Fitch and statements from the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Other talented Canadians set to perform include Bridge Brass Quintet, Canada’s National Ballet School, the della kit, Feels Like Home, Forte, Genticorum, Kids of Note & The Notations, Kym Gouchie, Lorraine Klaasen, Sya VanGeest & Nicholas Stoup and stories from Canadian grandmothers who visited Africa.

The link to the 90-minute concert will be available until April 18.
