Nature Centre selling Ukrainian Easter egg decorating kits

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Decorating Ukrainian Easter eggs is always a popular activity during the Nature Centre’s annual festivities.

This year kits are being sold so you can bring a little bit of the Easter fun into your home.

Each kit comes with four dyes, a beswax puck, instructions and one kistka, which is a special egg decorating tool similar to a pen.

“We miss everyone coming down here to the centre and we certainly enjoy to see having families coming down here and have something to do together,” says park interpreter Kat Valenzuela. “So the gift shop came up with the idea of putting together the kits so families can still enjoy an Easter egg decorating event but in the safety of their own home.”

The full kit is $27 but supplies can be bought separately. The money goes back into programming at the nature centre.

The centre is closed to the public so pickup and payment arrangements will be made when you pre-order your kit. You can pay by credit card over the phone or with exact change upon pickup.

And if you’re a novice at egg decorating, help is only a phone call away, says Valenzuela.

“I think it’s a really fun event for families. If they have any questions in regards to how to do it, if they’ve never done it it’s kind of their first time, always call and ask because everybody here has had a chance to try it so we can give advice for that.
