MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two Medicine Hat firefighters climbed the ladder to start the rooftop campout today.

The annual two-day event raises money for muscular dystrophy.

The fire department is trying to raise $10,000 and will be accepting donations until 12 p.m. on Saturday.

They are the only fire department in Alberta hosting a live event. The firefighters are excited about spending their days off helping others.

“Us getting out here and showing our support for the community, in general, is always a good thing,” firefighter Tyson Zarowny said. “We like to do whatever we can to help out with anything.”

You can donate in person at Station 2 on Trans-Canada Way or online.
