465 new COVID cases in Alberta Tuesday

EDMONTON, AB– Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Tuesday, covering statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.

465 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 142,855. Of those, 6,231 cases are active while 134,653 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 62 people tested positive, 43 of those cases were in Lethbridge.

Since yesterday’s update, three Albertans died from COVID. To date, 1,971 Albertans have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 290 patients are currently hospitalized including 53 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 7,328 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,612,369 tests completed on 1,878,183 different people.

497,280 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta as of the end of March 22.

Since yesterday’s report, another 195 cases of COVID-19 variants have been confirmed in Alberta with one of them in the South Zone.

Below is a breakdown of cases per regional health zone:

  • Edmonton Zone – 55,865 cases, 1,378 active
    • 82 in hospital, 13 in ICU
    • 1,003 deaths (two new)
  • Calgary Zone – 54,906 cases, 2,724 active
    • 107 in hospital, 21 in ICU
    • 600 deaths
  • North Zone – 13,285 cases, 740 active
    • 25 in hospital, five in ICU
    • 143 deaths
  • Central Zone – 11,071 cases, 578 active
    • 35 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 121 deaths (one new)
  • South Zone – 7,605 cases, 800 active
    • 41 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 104 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

  • Lethbridge – 2,889 cases (43 new), 534 active, 29 deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1013 cases (17 new), 223 active, six deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 941 cases (15 new), 162 active, 20 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 935 cases (11 new), 150 active, three deaths
  • Brooks – 1,366 cases, three active, 14 deaths
  • Cardston County – 737 cases, 98 active, 13 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 621 cases (14 new), 69 active, eight deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 571 cases (one new), 10 active, 17 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 359 cases (four new), 17 active, six deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 245 cases, 27 active, five deaths
  • County of Warner – 178 cases, 15 active, three deaths
  • County of Newell – 160 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Cypress County – 146 cases, one active, zero deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 123 cases, four active, three deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 119 cases (two new), 15 active, four deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 28 cases, four active, zero deaths
