A Hatter That Matters: Delynne Lorentzen

Mar 19, 2021 | 7:20 PM

Delynne Lorentzen was nominated by the Medicine Hat Rotary Music Festival Committee.

Delynne is the executive director of the Rotary Music Festival, which began on March 7 and wraps on Sunday.

Forced to shift away from in-person performances due to the pandemic, Delynne created the virtual festival and took on all the work normally done by a host of volunteers.

Delynne herself arranged for the students to record and submit their performances in piano, strings, speech arts, vocal, musical theatre and brass/woodwind. She arranged for performers to hear from adjudicators all so the students wouldn’t miss out on thevaluable experience of performing in front of an adjudicator.

The committee nominates Delynne for her commitment, devotion and tireless work to these students, teachers and parents, and the culture of music in our community.

Throughout this pandemic, there have been Hatters on the front lines.

Health-care workers, first responders, grocery store employees, truckers and others.

We want to recognize their efforts.
