COVID-19 update: Province confirms 474 new cases, five new deaths

MEDICINE HAT, AB- There are 474 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province Saturday. A total of 8873 tests were completed over a 24 hour period and the province’s chief medical officer of health says the positivity rate is 4.8 per cent.

A total of 70 new variant cases were confirmed Saturday. There 854 variant cases province-wide. Seventeen of those are in the South Zone. All of them are of the U.K variant.

Alberta health also confirmed five new deaths.

In Medicine Hat, there are nine active cases, 538 recoveries, and 17 recorded deaths.

Cypress County has one active case, 145 recoveries, and zero deaths.

Newell County has two active cases 157 recoveries, and two recorded deaths.

The City of Brooks has two active cases, 1,359 recoveries, and 14 recorded deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has five active cases, 333 recoveries, and six recorded deaths.

The County of Forty Mile has two active cases, 115 recoveries, and two deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 392 active cases, 2083 recoveries, and 25 recorded deaths.

Lethbridge County has 599 cases, 14 active, 538 recovered, and seven recorded deaths.
