Chamber looks back on business over the last year

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Businesses pivoted and faced many challenges several times during the pandemic.

The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce is looking back on the last year.

President Marcus Campbell says it included the yo-yo effect with businesses being open then closed.

Businesses also had to absorb an abundance of information from the government.

From a chamber standpoint, he says they focused on being a resource for businesses and simplifying that information.

On the flip side, Campbell feels the last year has brought everyone together with strategic partnerships formed within the city.

And says as a community, we are closer today than we ever have been.

“We’ve always tried to promote shop local, but I think you’re actually seeing it more so today than we ever have seen in the past. That’s the number one positive I’ve seen come out of this COVID pandemic is the support for each other in our business community,” Campbell said.
