Residents lineup to receive COVID-19 vaccine in Medicine Hat

Mar 1, 2021 | 4:31 PM

COVID-19 immunizations continue this week for those born in 1946 or earlier.

In Medicine Hat, residents were lined up to receive their vaccination at Higdon Hall at the Stampede Grounds Monday morning.

According to AHS, it’s anticipated each individual will be at the vaccine clinic for about 20 minutes, which includes the monitoring time after the vaccine is given.

Each appointment is booked approximately 10 minutes apart.

If requiring assistance, individuals are also allowed to bring a support person during their time-slot.

Chat News spoke to a few people in line today, and they were eager to get the shot.

“I’m glad, I’m very happy, I’m getting my vaccination today,” one resident said.

Despite a few glitches last week when booking, Hatters were able to get in and say it feels good to get it done.

If you are in the 75 + category born in 1946 or earlier, you can still book your immunization time.

You can call Health Link at 811, or visit the Alberta Health website.
