COVID-19 update: Province confirms 415 new cases

EDMONTON,AB- There are 415 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province Saturday. In total, there are 4,546 active cases in Alberta and 126,744 people have recovered.

Taking to Twitter, the province’s chief medical officer of health confirmed 7,761 tests were completed over a 24 hour period. Alberta’s positivity rate stands at 5.3 per cent.

There are 262 people in hospital, including 51 in ICU, Hinshaw confirmed. She also confirmed six new deaths.

In terms of variant cases, the province said there are now 401 cases of the UK Variant and South African Variant. None of the cases are in the South Zone.

In Medicine Hat, there are 18 active cases. 518 recoveries, and 17 deaths attributed to the virus.

In Cypress County, there are two active cases, 143 recoveries, and no recorded deaths.

Newell County and the City of Brooks have zero active cases.

MD of Taber has seven active cases, 327 recoveries, and six deaths.

The County of Forty Mile has zero active cases.

Lethbridge County has 19 active cases, 519 recoveries and seven deaths.

The city of Lethbridge has 194 active cases, 1880 recoveries and 20 deaths.
