Hatters win Scotties 50/50

A pair of Medicine Hat curlers are winners at the 2021 Scotties Tournament without throwing or sweeping a stone.

Doug and Janice Hantiuk won $7,160 on the Feb. 23 province-wide 50/50 draw.

The Curling Alberta Facebook page says Doug and Janice are social curlers and hardcore curling fans. Doug has even traveled to see the Tim Hortons Brier in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador as well as to PyeongChang to cheer on his friend Kevin Koe at the XXIII Olympic Winter Games.

The Scotties is being played without fans in Calgary this week.
