A Hatter That Matters: Patty MacLaren

Feb 26, 2021 | 5:25 PM

Patty MacLaren was nominated by John MacLaren.

Patty has actively worked as a neo-natal nurse in the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for the past 25 years. The department takes loving care of all the newborns who come into this world from Medicine Hat and the surrounding area with serious, sometimes life-threatening issues.

John says Patty has cradled and comforted many babies, day and night, to help them on the road to recovery as well as some that simply don’t make it. Heartbreaking!

He says Patty always manages to leave the heartache at the hospital door. She always has an endearing smile and a kind word to cheer others through a difficult day.

Throughout this pandemic, there have been Hatters on the front lines.

Health-care workers, first responders, grocery store employees, truckers and others.

We want to recognize their efforts.
