Water Places in Winter continues ‘Riparian Areas Rock!’ series

Feb 22, 2021 | 1:53 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is resuming its “Riparian Areas Rock!” series this weekend.

The Water Places in Winter walk will start on Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.

Winter gives us the opportunity to focus on local water places in a unique fashion and, hopefully, gain new insights into riparian area beauty and significance. It doesn’t matter if you have or haven’t been on a previous walk in the series to get a fresh appreciation for natural settings in Medicine Hat, reads a release.

Staff from the nature centre will guide the walk now that small outdoor gatherings are once again permitted under public health measures.

Under those measures, space attendance for the walk is limited to nine people and therefore registration in advance is required. Registrants will be given the meeting location. Register by calling 403-529-6225.

An additional walk may be scheduled if demand requires it.

The project is supported by a grant from the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada.
