Former head of CCDA pleads guilty to accessing child porn

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The former head of the City Centre Development Agency has pleaded guilty to a charge of accessing child pornography.
The guilty plea by Wayne Smith came yesterday, the day before the scheduled start of his trial on charges of accessing and possessing child pornography.
He was arrested and charged in June 2019 on allegations stemming from incidents between November 2018 and his arrest.
Smith’s tenure as director of the CCDA came to an end in March 2016.
