Staff, customers put under lockdown at Medicine Hat Walmart

UPDATE 5:25 am. — In a Facebook post, the MHPS confirm the incident has concluded.

The MHPS said officers received a report involving a firearm, and “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of employees and customers, the business was locked down,” a post on the MHPS Facebook page read.

City police are still investigating and say there will be more details available this morning.

MEDICINE HAT,AB- At least three police cruisers were on scene at a Medicine Hat Walmart Monday night.

Not much is known, but a Facebook post from the Medicine Hat Police Service indicated police were responding to a public safety incident.

MHPS Staff Sgt. Graham confirmed to CHAT News that employees and customers at the Walmart were put under lockdown for less than an hour.

Police are close to clearing the scene, according to Staff Sgt. Graham
