Fewer than 500 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Today is the first day since November 29, 2020 there are fewer than 500 Albertans in the hospital with COVID-19.

According to the numbers released this afternoon by AHS, 475 people are in hospital across the province, down from 517 on Thursday.

89 Albertans are in the ICU.

There are 396 new cases of COVID-19 across the province today.

Nine more Albertans have died.

There are 12 active cases in Medicine Hat according to the provincial map.

Alberta has identified 10 new cases of the variant first identified in the United Kingdom, bringing its total to 71.

No new cases of the variant first detected in South Africa were detected.
