COVID 19 Outbreak at Retirement residence

Medicine Hat–An outbreak of COVID 19 has been confirmed at Meadowlands.

According to a letter dated December 19th, there has been one resident with a confirmed case of the virus.

Residents that were considered contacts have been isolating and additional swabbing has begun. All communal areas including the dining room are closed. Residents are being served meals in their individual rooms.

Residents are also being asked to limit any activity outside their suite. Designated Essential Visitors are still permitted but are being highly discouraged at this time. All visitors will be screened and informed of the outbreak before entering the facility.

Residents are not allowed to leave the premises for any reason and those who do will not be permitted to return until the outbreak has been declared over which will be a minimum of 28 days.
