COVID-19 Update: 1,286 new cases, 10 additional deaths

EDMONTON, AB- There are 1,286 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the province on Sunday bringing the total number of active cases to 19,201. The active case number is down slightly from yesterday’s active case count which had 19,260 active cases.

The province also confirmed 10 additional deaths. In total 851 Albertans have died from COVID-19.

There are currently 760 people in hospital and 149 people in ICU.

In the South Zone, there are 477 active cases of COVID-19.

In Medicine Hat, there are two more active cases confirmed over a 24 hour period bringing the total number of active cases in the city to 79. A total of 326 people have recovered from the virus, and six people have died.

Cypress County has 10 active cases and 127 recoveries.

Newell County has 14 active cases 120 recoveries and two deaths.

The city of Brooks has 44 active cases, 1279 recoveries and 14 deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has 20 active cases, 274 recoveries and six deaths.

The city of Lethbridge has 168 active cases, 1158 recoveries and seven deaths.

Lethbridge County has 40 active cases 369 recoveries and three deaths.

In a tweet, Dr Deena Hinshaw, urged for patience as many Albertans prepare for the holidays. She also advised people to follow all public health orders.
