COVID-19 Update: 1,352 new cases, 26 more deaths

EDMONTON, AB- There are 1,352 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the province Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases to 19,260.

The province also confirmed 23 new deaths on Saturday. In total 841 have died from COVID-19 in Alberta.

There are 777 people in hospital, and 141 people in ICU, province-wide.

In Medicine Hat, there are 77 active cases of the virus and six recorded deaths. A total of 320 people have recovered.

In Cypress County, there are 11 active cases, 126 recoveries and zero death.s

The County of Newell has 14 active cases 120 recoveries and two deaths.

The city of Brooks has 43 active cases, 1277 recoveries and 14 deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has 19 active cases, 272 recoveries, and six deaths.

Lethbridge has 168 active cases, 1144 recoveries, and seven deaths.

In a tweet, the province’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, urged Albertans to limit in-person interactions as much as possible, stating the decisions we make will affect future cases rates and hospitalizations.

She also urged Albertans to follow all public health guidance.
