Safety warning issued about certain hot tubs, spas, pools

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A safety warning is being issued by the city to anyone who has received hot tub, spa or swimming pool services from Water World Tubs (Water World 2062939 ALBERTA LTD).

The city says hot tubs, spas or swimming pools that were incorrectly installed or serviced may present an unsafe condition, posing a safety risk to persons or property.

“Anyone who has received hot tub, spa or swimming pool services from Water World 2062939 ALBERTA LTD., (“Water World Tubs”), or who otherwise has concerns about the safety of their hot tub, spa or swimming pool, should immediately discontinue use and contact the city’s Safety Codes Services by phone at 403-529-8374 or email at pbe@medicinehat.ca,” reads a release from the city. “Callers are required to provide their name, address, phone number and relevant service dates.”

An inspection may be required, and will be provided at no cost if deemed necessary.

If life safety issues are identified, repairs will be required and must be completed by an appropriately licensed contractor at the property owner’s expense, the release states.

The city says this safety notice only applies to services provided by Water World 2062939 ALBERTA LTD. (“Water Worlds Tubs”) and does not apply to any services provided by any other service provider.
