Dec. 3 for southern Alberta

Province hosting telephone town halls on budget

Nov 30, 2020 | 11:45 AM

The provincial government is giving Albertans the chance to have their say on the next budget.

Telephone town halls are taking place over the next three evenings, where people can share their ideas directly with Finance Minister Travis Toews in preparation for Budget 2021.

The town hall for southern Alberta and Calgary will take place on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 6:30-8 p.m.

“We are developing Alberta’s budget in a time of incredible challenge, which makes hearing from all Albertans even more important, says Toews in a release. “Our mid-year fiscal update showed some improvement but the road to recovery is long. Over the past year Alberta has been hit hard, but we are also the most resilient province in the nation. I look forward to hearing from Albertans as we tackle these challenges together.”

Registration information and more details can be found on the province’s website.

Albertans can also have their say in the online budget survey available until Dec. 4.

The town hall for communities north of Edmonton will be Nov. 30, with the one for the central region, including Edmonton, Red Deer and those north of Calgary, will be Dec. 2.
