November utility rates released

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The natural gas rate is up in November while the electricity rate has gone down.

The City of Medicine Hat posted the new rates on Monday.

The natural gas rate for the month is set at $3.1410 per gigajoule, up from $2.2560 in October.

The electricity rate is set at 5.948 cents per kilowatt hour, down from 6.197 cents in October.

The monthly rates are determined based on the average set by other providers in the province.

The natural gas price is in the middle of the $3.277 set by Direct Energy and the $3.005 set by AltaGas.

The electricity price falls between the high of 6.142 cents set by Epcor (Edmonton) and the 5.758 cents set by Enmax.
