Police say no risk

Brief hold and secure at Webster Niblock school

MEDICINE HAT, AB – There was a brief hold and secure at Webster Niblock School on Thursday at noon.

The hold and secure was called at 12 pm while police dealt with a situation outside of the school.

It was called so students and staff would remain safely inside the school, away from the incident outside.

Police say one officer responded to the mental health related call.

According to police, everything was fine and no one was at risk.

Adding that the hold and secure was a proactive measure on the school’s part.

School operated as normal until the all-clear was called at 12:07 pm.

Parents have been told to contact the school administration if they have any questions.
