Midnight Madness begins early this year

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Downtown Midnight Madness is being extended in 2020.

The event will take place from 1 p.m. until midnight on Nov. 20.

The opening ceremonies and tree lighting will still take place at 6 p.m. at BATUS Park. It will include the popular tree lighting and will be streamed on the City Centre Development Agency’s Facebook page.

Santa Claus will make two appearances at BATUS Park, one from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. Physical distance measures will be in place but children will be able to get a photo with the big guy, who will be in the back of a pickup truck.

As well, Santa’s Mailbox will be on-site for children to drop off their letters for him to take back to the North Pole.
