BROOKS, AB – Medicine Hat College has confirmed a positive COVID-19 test in an individual connected with the Brooks Campus.

The following statement was provided to CHAT News:

“Medicine Hat College has been notified that an individual associated with the Brooks campus has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is following public health directives and protocols. Contact tracing is underway and Alberta Health Services will notify college connections should further action be required. However, AHS does not believe there is a high risk to the campus community.”

Enhanced cleaning measures are occurring in addition to the processes and protocols already in place to maintain a safe learning environment at the Brooks Campus, says a college spokesperson.

Brooks Composite High School issued a COVID-19 alert this morning after a case was diagnosed in an individual connected to the school.

“A case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed in an individual who was last within Brooks Composite High School, first thing in the morning, on October 19th,” says a release from the Grasslands School Division.
