Online workshop to learn how to manage stress

A free, online workshop on stress management is being by Alberta Health Services beginning later this month.

The workshop, called Transform Your Stress: The Resilience Advantage — Strategies for Managing Stress in Challenging Times, will include a basic discussion of stress and will look at different ways of managing it.

Led by certified professionals, this workshop will:

  • Discuss the stress response
  • Identify warning signs of stress
  • Help participants make an action plan to address their own stress
  • Demonstrate two practical, stress-relieving breathing techniques
  • Discuss how resilience can be enhanced through regular use of the breathing tools

There are two chances to participate in Part 1 of the workshop. The first is on Oct. 27 from 10-11:45 a.m. and the second is on Nov. 25 from 10-11:45 a.m.

Part 2 of the workshop is on Dec. 2 from 1:30-3:15 p.m. Completion of Part 1 is essential to fully understanding Part 2.
