‘Multiple’ cases of COVID-19 confirmed at Lethbridge Family Services northside office

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is advising the public that there have been “multiple” positive cases of COVID-19 at their northside office on 1107 2A Ave North.

The building closed to the public on Friday and a two-day deep clean and sanitization took place over the weekend.

The facility remains closed Monday as a precaution.

Director Michelle Gallucci says LFS made the decision to close their northside office and they have not decided at this time when they will reopen.

“We will continue to be honest with our employees, clients, and the community. Every effort is being taken,” reads a statement from LFS. “We are working closely with Alberta Health Services to assist them with contact tracing.”

LFS goes on to say that, despite having strict protocols on physical distancing, masking, hand sanitization, and cleaning, they now see how easily the virus can spread.

The agency assures that they will take additional steps to keep the public safe.
