New LED lighting installed at Kinplex
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Brighter lights will greet skaters the next time they’re at the Kinplex Arena.
The city says it recently finished the installation of 136 new LED high and low bay fixtures and LED strip figures in the arena.
“With the flick of a switch, players and staff will instantly see a difference stepping out onto the ice,” said Stephane Rainville, superintendent of recreation facilities for the City of Medicine Hat says in a release. “Even family and friends in the stands will notice how much brighter the rink is.”
About $92,000 toward the total cost of the project came from a grant program available through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), with the city providing the rest.
