MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Alberta Court of Appeal has upheld the sexual assault conviction of a former Bow Island Mountie.
Elliot Teed was convicted on charges he groped a woman during a series of interactions connected with a 2015 roadside stop in the town.
He was convicted in 2018 on one count of sexual assault and two counts of breach of trust and sentenced early last year to two-months’ custody.
In a two-to-one decision, the Court of Appeal dismissed the arguments the trial was unfair due to comments by the presiding Queen’s Bench justice and the victim’s testimony was not credible.
