New school means new playground zone in Saamis Heights

MEDICINE HAT, AB – There’s a new playground zone in Medicine Hat.

With the opening of École Les Cyprès for the 2020-21 school year, the speed limit on the roads around the school at 20 Saamis Rotary Way will change from 50 km/h to 30 km/h.

The change takes place on Aug. 28. Signs will be posted notifying drivers of the change.

The speed limit in all playground zones is 30 km/h between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. every day of the year.

The city asks motorists to obey all traffic signs and take note of the speed limit change in areas as excited children begin to head back to school.
