Underpass to get lighting upgrade

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The pedestrian underpass linking South and North Railway avenues under the CP rails will be getting a lighting facelift starting next week.

Work on the more than 60-year-old tunnel will begin on Monday August 24 and last for seven days.

There will be no daytime access to the underpass while work on the new lighting is being performed.

There will be nightly access when possible.

Pedestrian detour signs will direct walkers to the First Street sidewalk.
