MEDICINE HAT, AB – One of the fall’s most anticipated local sporting events has been cancelled due to regulations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

PBR Canada made it official on Wednesday morning, cancelling its September stop in Medicine Hat on the Monster Energy Tour and postponing the event until the spring.

In a release, PBR Canada says this was done in compliance with government and health authority guidelines regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

This would have been the second straight year of a PBR Canada bull riding event in the ‘Gas City’ following the ‘Thunderbuck in the Badlands’ competition at the Canalta Centre last year.

Fans who purchased tickets for the Monster Energy Tour date will be able to receive a refund, who those who won tickets or purchased tickets through auction can redeem them in 2021.

The Medicine Hat tour stop has been tentatively re-scheduled for May 15, 2021.
