City warns of phone scam

MEDICINE HAT, AB – City officials are warning residents about a phone scam currently making the rounds in Medicine Hat.

Unauthorized callers claiming to be representatives of the City of Medicine Hat are requesting credit card information for unpaid utilities.

The city does not ask for credit card information over the phone. If you receive a call, you are asked to hang up immediately and then report it directly to the city at 403-529-8111.

If you have not shared your personal or banking information, there is no need to contact police.
