MEDICINE HAT, AB – A new location, fresh layout, and a store full of items.
The Post in Medicine Hat is open for shoppers and is accepting donations again.
Their opening followed renovations and moving into the old Bargain Shop location on 3rd Street downtown.
Manager of The Post Jamie Nelson says they had a soft launch opening on July 30 and customers were lined up outside and now they’ve been having a steady flow of customers.
She says The Post has been flooded with donations and they can be dropped off at the back bay door.
Nelson says they moved in with twice as much donations than when they closed in March.
All purchases at The Post support mental health programming in Medicine Hat.
“Just with everything going on with the COVID struggle and with what we see on the news with police service just amping up with mental health calls. So it was really imperative that we open immediately because everyday that goes by are profits we’re not making to go back into the community. So our opening was crucial,” Nelson said.
The Post is open Monday-Saturday from 10AM-5.
An official grand opening is being planned.
