Three new cases in South Zone

No new COVID-19 cases in Medicine Hat, 94 in the province

Medicine Hat has no new cases of COVID-19 and has seen its active case count drop down to four.

The city currently has 64 total cases — four active, 59 recovered and one death.

Alberta counted 94 new cases today, bringing the provincial total to 11,240. Of those, 1,146 are active, a decrease of 45, and 9,891 are recovered, an increase of 137.

There are 75 Albertans currently in hospital due to COVID-19, 20 of which are in ICU. There are a total of 203 deaths, an increase of two.

The province conducted 7,197 tests on Tuesday.

The South Zone has a total of 1,675 cases —1,560 recovered, an increase of 15, and 98 active, a decrease of 12.

There are 11 people in the zone in hospital, five of which are in ICU, and there have been 17 deaths.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw will provide her next in-person update on Thursday.

Cypress County has totalled 31 cases – all recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has 16 total cases, seven active cases and nine recovered.

The MD of Taber has 37 total cases — seven active and 30 recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has four active cases and 11 recovered.

Brooks has 1,123 total cases —1,114 are recovered and there are none considered active. Brooks has recorded nine deaths. The County of Newell has a total of 26 cases — five active and 21 recovered.

The County of Warner has 54 total cases. There are now two active cases and 51 recovered. There has been one death in the county.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 130 cases. Of those, 40 are listed as active and 88 recovered and there have been two deaths there. Lethbridge County has 27 cases, three active cases and 24 recovered.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day Aug. 4, 2020.”

Saskatchewan reported eight new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, none in the South Zone.

Saskatchewan has a total of 1,376 cases, 225 considered active. There are 1,133 recovered cases and there have been 18 COVID-19 deaths in the province.
