HALO Air Ambulance to benefit from another large fundraiser today

SEVEN PERSONS, AB. — The latest in what has been a season of fundraisers for Halo Air Ambulance will be held in Seven Persons this morning.

Gateway Auctions began organizing this event a couple of months ago, when HALO said it might have to reduce service due to a lack of provincial funding.

Auctioneer Gordon Musgrove says they started knocking on doors far and wide, looking for donations that could be put on the block, and the response was overwhelming.

“We need HALO, it’s important to all of us and everybody realizes that” , says Musgrove.

A variety of items will be on offer, including a fat steer and a hosted 7 day Mosel River Wine Tour in Germany.

Many items were donated by people who don’t live in HALO’s coverage area, a fact not lost on HALO C-E-O Paul Carolan.

“People are doing this in perhaps one of the most difficult times we’ve experienced as people with COVID – 19 and economies being shutdown, but they’re still doing what they need to do to make sure HALO is viable” says Carolan.

The day begins with a pancake breakfast at 9 at the Seven Persons Community Hall, with the auction starting at 10.
