Two new cases in South Zone, 47 in province

No change in COVID-19 cases in Medicine Hat

There are no new cases of COVID-19 in Medicine Hat or Cypress County in the updated numbers from the province on Tuesday.

The province totalled 47 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, two of which are in the South Zone.

Medicine Hat remains at 49 total cases — 38 of those are recovered, 10 active and there has been one death in the city.

In the South Zone, there are 1,375 total cases. Of those, 86 are active, 1,278 recovered and there have been 11 deaths in the zone. Three people in the South Zone are in hospital.

Across the province, there are 620 active cases, an increase of 13 since Monday, and 7,659 recovered cases, an increase of 32. The province now has 8,436 total cases.

There are 54 Albertans in hospital, six of which are in ICU. The provincial death toll rose by two to 157.

More than 6,000 tests were completed in the past 24 hours.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced July 2 that she will not be providing daily updates this week but that the online numbers will be updated daily.

Cypress County remains at 21 recovered cases and eight active ones.

The County of Forty Mile has two active cases and two recovered, no change since Monday.

The MD of Taber remains at 12 total cases, nine active and three recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has no cases on the map. There was previously one recovered case and one death attributed to the region.

The County of Newell is showing one new active cases and 20 recovered. There is no change in Brooks, where there remains one active case. There have been 1,119 total cases in the city and 1,109 are recovered. Brooks has recorded nine deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has two new cases for a total of 48. Of those, 11 are listed as active and 37 recovered. Lethbridge County has three cases, all considered recovered.
