130 new Alberta cases over three days

One new COVID-19 case in Medicine Hat over the weekend

The province totalled 130 new cases of COVID-19 in the past three days, 15 of which are in the South Zone. Medicine Hat recorded one of the new cases.

Medicine Hat now stands at 49 total cases — 38 of those are recovered, 10 active and there has been one death in the city.

Across the South Zone, there are 1,373 total cases. Of those, 84 are active, 1,278 recovered and there have been 11 deaths in the zone. There are three people in hospital in the zone.

Province-wide, there are 607 active cases and 7,627 recovered cases. There are 57 Albertans in hospital, six of which are in ICU. The provincial death toll remains at 155.

Daily totals were 29 new cases on July 3, 52 on July 4 and 49 on July 5. More than 17,000 tests were completed over the weekend.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced July 2 that she will not be providing daily updates this week but that the online numbers will be updated daily.

Cypress County has 21 recovered cases and eight active ones, an increase of one since the last update on Friday.

The County of Forty Mile has two new active cases and two recovered.

The MD of Taber now has 12 total cases, nine active and three recovered. That’s four more total cases than on Friday.

Special Areas No. 2 has no cases on the map. There was previously one recovered case and one death attributed to the region.

The County of Newell is showing zero active cases and 20 recovered, no change since Friday. There is also no change in Brooks, where there remains one active case. There have been 1,119 total cases in the city and 1,109 are recovered. Brooks has recorded nine deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 46 cases, 10 listed as active and 36 recovered. Lethbridge County has three cases, all considered recovered.
