MEDICINE HAT, AB – Work to replace the water and sewer infrastructure along Division Avenue South will move south next week.

The intersection of 12 Street SE/SW on Division Avenue will be closed on July 7.

The closure is needed to connect water service on 12 Street SE/SW to the Division Avenue main line, says the city. The closure is expected to last until July 18, weather permitting and barring unforeseen delays.

The entire project along Division Avenue is expected to last until the end of the month. The construction is being done in phases to limit the disruption and continue to allow access to businesses and residences during the work period.

The project’s progress can be seen at medicinehat.ca.

Detours will be in place and motorists are reminded to obey all traffic signs and detours related to ongoing construction.

The city reminds people to allow crews space to work safely, including adhering to physical distancing standards of two metres, and asks residents to follow all traffic signs and detours related to the work.

Also on July 7, road paving will begin at Ross Glen Way from Cameron Road to Ross Glen Drive.

Paving is expected to be completed on July 8, weather dependent.

Drivers are reminded to obey all construction and temporary speed signs while this work is being completed.
