Police Point Park hosting wetlands walks

Jul 2, 2020 | 1:23 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Marty Drut wants you to know that riparian areas rock, and if you don’t believe him a new initiative from the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program will show you.

The program is planning a series of walks that will take participants through local water places and wetlands that are vital to the region. The first walk will take place on July 7 at 6:30 p.m.

“Ranging from expanses of cottonwood forest to fragile strips of willow and grasses, these intricately connected systems provide habitat for a multitude of species, including us,” reads a release from the program.

Due to public health restrictions, each walk will be limited to 12 people and pre-registration is required. The meeting location will be provided upon registration.

Call the Nature Line at 403-529-6225 to register.

The project is supported through a grant from the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada.
