Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Medicine Hat, Cypress County

MEDICINE HAT – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Medicine Hat and Cypress County near Bowell, Redcliff and Seven Persons.

According to Environment Canada the thunderstorm is located 30 km west of Medicine Hat and is moving 40 km/ hr to the east.

“Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!,” Environment Canada said.

Meanwhile, regions south of Calgary are cleaning up after hail hit the region.
