More than 6,600 tests

37 new COVID-19 cases, 34 recoveries in the past 24 hours

The province has confirmed 37 new cases of COVID-19 since Thursday, while performing more than 6,600 tests.

In the past 24 hours, 34 Albertans have recovered from the virus.

Active cases rose by just three to 509 and there are 7,225 recovered cases across the province.

A total of 7,888 cases have been confirmed in Alberta.

The number of deaths remains at 154, and the number of hospitalizations and people in the ICU are 37 and eight, respectively.

In the South Zone, there are 1,293 cases, an increase of two from Thursday. Both are in Lethbridge.

There are 23 active cases in the zone and 1,260 recovered cases. The zone has recorded 10 COVID-19 deaths over the course of the pandemic and there are no current hospitalizations in the South Zone.

The geospatial map shows figures to the “end of day June 25.”

There, Medicine Hat shows a total of 38 cases — two active cases and 36 recovered.

Brooks is showing 1,119 total cases — three active and 1,107 recovered. Nine deaths have been recorded there.

On May 11, the province began putting a more detailed chart online for each zone.

Cypress County is showing zero active cases and 21 recovered, while the County of Newell is showing zero active cases and 20 recovered.

The County of Forty Mile and Municipal District of Taber each have two confirmed cases both listed as recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has no cases on the map. There was previously one recovered case and one death attributed to the region.

The City of Lethbridge has 40 cases, seven listed as active and 33 recovered. Lethbridge County has three cases currently, one considered active and two recovered.
