Arrest warrant issued following assault with a baseball bat

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 20-year-old man wanted in connection to a violent assault last week.

Medicine Hat Police Service says that on June 17 at about 10:45 p.m., officers were called to a dispute near Sundown Road SW, where a male had been assaulted with a baseball bat and in need of medical attention.

The victim, 33, was located and transported to hospital.

After investigation, a warrant has been issued for Chandler Messenger of Medicine Hat. Messenger is described as five-foot-nine (175 cm) and 180 pounds (82 kg), with hazel eyes and brown hair.

He is wanted for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5,000.
