35 new cases

One active COVID-19 case in Medicine Hat and Brooks

Twenty more Albertans have recovered from COVID-19 and 35 new cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours. Alberta now has 449 active cases.

Overall, 6,882 Albertans have recovered from a total of 7,482 cases over the course of the pandemic.

Case counts in Medicine Hat remain unchanged, with one active case and 35 recovered.

Brooks is once again down to just one active case. The city has 1,118 total cases, with 1,108 recovered and nine deaths.

None of the 35 new cases in the province are in the South Zone. The zone has 1,277 total cases, 23 of which are active and 1,244 recovered. There have been 10 deaths in the zone.

There are currently 36 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19, seven of which are in ICU. There were no new deaths, leaving the total at 151.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw will provide another in-person update on Wednesday.

On May 11, the province began putting a more detailed chart online for each zone.

Cypress County is showing zero active cases and 21 recovered, while the County of Newell is showing zero active cases and 20 recovered.

The County of Forty Mile and Municipal District of Taber each have two confirmed cases both listed as recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has no cases on the map. There was previously one recovered case and one death attributed to the region.

The City of Lethbridge has 34 cases, five listed as active and 29. Lethbridge County has two cases currently considered active.
