Active cases below five per cent

Just three active COVID-19 cases in Brooks

There are now just three active cases of COVID-19 in Brooks and five in Medicine Hat and neither city recorded a new case in the past 24 hours.

The total number of cases in Brooks remains at 1,095 — three active cases, 1,084 recovered and eight deaths.

In Medicine Hat, there are 42 total cases — five active and 37 recovered.

There were two new cases confirmed in the South Zone today, one in Lethbridge and one in Cardston County.

Across Alberta, there were 15 new cases confirmed for a total of 7,091. The number of recovered cases is now at 6,611 and active cases are at 334. Fewer than five per cent of all cases remain active.

The number of deaths rose by one to 146.

The province’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw will provide her next in-person update on Friday.

On May 11, the province began putting a more detailed chart online for each zone.

The County of Newell has 15 cases, one active and 14 recovered.

Cypress County has 18 cases, seven active and 11 recovered.

The County of Forty Mile and Municipal District of Taber each have two confirmed cases both listed as recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has two confirmed cases, one recovered and one death.

The City of Lethbridge has 29 cases, two listed as active and 27 recovered. Lethbridge County has one recorded recovered case.
