13 new cases in Alberta

One new COVID-19 case in Medicine Hat, six cases are active

There is one new case of COVID-19 in Medicine Hat among the 13 confirmed across the province on Tuesday.

Medicine Hat now has 42 cases, six active and 36 recovered.

Brooks did not record any new cases of COVID-19 and provincial numbers actually show one fewer cases than before. Occasionally cases are moved between regions when it has been improperly designated.

The map at alberta.ca now shows 1,095 cases in Brooks. Eight are active and 1,079 recovered. On June 1 the map showed 1,080 recovered cases. There have been eight COVID-19 deaths in Brooks.

Across the province, there are now 377 active cases and 6,537 recovered ones. There remain 143 deaths. In total, Alberta has confirmed 7,057 cases. There are 51 Albertans in hospital, six of who are in the ICU.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, The province’s chief medical officer of health, will provide her next in-person update on Wednesday.

On May 11, the province began putting a more detailed chart online for each zone.

The County of Newell has 15 cases, two active and 13 recovered.

Cypress County has 18 cases, seven active and 11 recovered.

The County of Forty Mile and Municipal District of Taber each have two confirmed cases both listed as recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has two confirmed cases, one recovered and one death.

The City of Lethbridge has 27 cases, one listed as active and 26 recovered. Lethbridge County has one recorded recovered case.
